Adherent (now acquired by Tektronix) specialise in the measurement and monitoring of next-generation global communications networks and Internet technologies.

Tektronix, one of the leading companies testing MPEG transmission over broadband technology, is an excellent example of the type of company Westhawk have worked with whilst developing their open source SNMP 'stack'.

The technology enables different parts of a network to communicate, by sending messages to compliant devices on the network. The device responds by returning the information it stores about itself.

In this way companies can monitor any number of networked devices remotely, providing endless opportunities for development and integration.

It is hard to say how many people use Westhawk's SNMP stack, because the technology is FREE and many companies use the technology for internal purposes or even build it into their own products. However we do know that the stack is downloaded on average 10 times every day and that some very large and well respected organisations have used it, including Cisco, HP, Intel, Reuters and Siemens.

We can provide consultancy and support for organisations wishing to implement solutions using the SNMP stack to meet their own requirements.
