Honeywell,
who provide technology solutions to the
world's largest energy companies, recruited Westhawk to
assist with the development of a dynamically driven
simulation of chemical plants.
The simulator allows personnel who work on the chemical plants to experience real-life situations that may occur, ensuring that staff are able to be trained adequately for emergency situations. This simulation allows the company to save millions of pounds, as the alternative would be to shut down the plant to perform such exercises. Westhawk designed and continue to maintain the software with three user interfaces, which can be customised to reflect the look and feel required by the client. The first interface is for the instructor who can devise a training scenario, the second is for the engineer to test the various scenarios and the third is for the trainee operator who is put to the test. |
